“Fungi” - hand-blown glass
‘Fungi’ is a glass lighting installation created specially for this year’s exhibition at the Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden, which has featured contemporary sculpture - from both local and international artists - in a magical setting for more than 35 years.

Helen’s work is a reflection of her fascination with the under-explored fungi kingdom.
Each hand-blown glass sculpture is unique; and thanks to a collaboration with lighting designer Robin Bussell clusters of fungi are gradually illuminated and almost appear to breathe.
Thanks to KT Rothe and Rosie Power from The Glass Hub for their help with this large scale installation.
Helen’s sculptural kaleidoscopes, first shown here in 2020, have also been selected for this year’s exhibition.

“A deceptively simply idea created to perfection, Helen’s kaleidoscopes are unique and utterly captivating. Harnessing childlike curiosity, they blur the line between art and nature.”
